Driven by the thrill of new discoveries, the former anthropology student from Montpellier could have chosen to go into research or archaeology. However, for Emma François, aged 21, the adventure began in Latin America during a trip to Guatemala.

Meeting with men and women who weave, embroider, sew, create clothes and craft objects signed the designer’s first step on a path that seemed to be waiting for her. The idea of designing a collection that would marry local know-how and street culture soon began to take shape. And in 1996, Sessùn came into being.
